For a while she could see nothing but darkness
For a while all she could see was confusion
It was like she was bobbing up and down in stormy wave
Yes she hit the cold sharp air sometimes
But to open her eyes to see another wave about to crash down on her was almost as unbearable as the darkness itself…. maybe more
For a while there was nothing but darkness
A vain hope that there would be light, that somewhere there was light
And yet light would not make itself known
At some point she sank,
Her arms though now stronger than before, were tired
Her legs couldn’t push anymore
Her mouth could not balance out the air to the water that rushed in
Her eyes stung
Her hope drew away from her
Her body ached
One last wave threw its force at her and she allowed it to drag her under
She sank
And the struggle stopped
They say, there is light at the bottom of the sea. Hydrothermal vents glow, and while the light is too faint to be perceived by the human eye, that hardly means it is without significance.
