Unashamed

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

She pauses, are these her words too? She thinks to Mary, How did she do it? How did she walk through the rumours, the name calling, the rejection She thinks to Joseph, Humiliated, Confused, Heartbroken maybe How did they do it How did they walk through the shame Faith

She pauses, could these be her words too? She thinks of the Shepherds, Outcasts from the start, people who should have felt shame, welcomed in by angelic song She thinks to the baby, a refuge of sorts, from the wrong end of town, a King born in squalor. God made man How did He do it, Years later walk through the shame? Faith

She pauses, may they be my words too She thinks to herself The times she has felt ashamed of the choices and dreams of her heart Walking in the waiting, feeling shame Though often none have placed it on her other than, her own mind. She thinks to Him Overcomer, Victorious One, Comforter Shepherd, Friend Help me walk out of the shame Spirit bring Faith
